Condensation of 1,1?-diacetyl ferrocene with 2-amino-5-methylthiazole in 1: 2 molar ratio yields a ferrocenyl Schiff base ligand 1,1?-bis(Z)-N-ethyldiene-5-methylthiazol-2-amine ferrocene (L). This ligand forms 1:1 complexes with La(III), Ce(III), Pr(III) and Gd(III) nitrate in a good yield. Characterization of the ligand and complexes were carried out using infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectra, electronic absorption, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity and elemental analysis. The cytotoxicity and in vitro anticancer evaluation of the ligand and its complexes have been assessed against four different human tumor cell lines (MCF-7, HepG2, A549 and HCT116). The results revealed that the prepared compounds exert their actions in HepG2 and MCF-7 through inhibition of the activity of both urokinase and histone deacetylase (HDAC). Pr-complex revealed promising anticancer activity compared to the activity of the commonly used anticancer drug, doxorubicin.

A direct synthesis of alpha-alkylated arylacetamides from arylacetonitriles and primary alcohols has been accomplished for the first time. In the presence of the rhodium complex [Rh(cod)Cl]2/triphenylphosphine/potassium hydroxide system, the desired alpha-alkylated arylacetamides were obtained in 74-92% yield under microwave conditions. The experimental results in this paper are in sharp contrast with previous reports, where the coupling of arylacetonitriles and primary alcohols produced the alpha-alkylated arylacetonitriles. Mechanistic investigations show that arylacetonitriles are first alpha-alkylated with primary alcohols to produce alpha-alkylated arylacetonitriles, which are further hydrated with the water resulting from the alpha-alkylation step to produce alpha-alkylated arylacetamides. More importantly, this research shows the potential of developing completely atom-economical reactions that involve the hydrogen autotransfer (or hydrogen borrowing) process.

A series of ferrocenyl derivatives (1, 2, 3 and 4) containing phenol group, chemosensors for anions, have been synthesized and optimized. Their binding ability for various anions (F-, Cl-, Br-, I-, AcO- and H2PO4-) were evaluated by theoretical investigation, UV-Vis, 1H NMR titration and cyclic voltammetry experiments and these chemosensors showed strong binding ability for oxy-anions. Theoretical investigation analysis revealed the substituent was different, the space structure was different. And the intramolecular hydrogen bond existed between -OH and other atoms in the structure of these compounds. UV-Vis titrations indicated the anion binding abilities could be tuned by electron push-pull properties of the substituents on the phenyl ortho or para position. Electrochemical titrations showed the addition of anions led to the weak of redox response and the oxidation peak potential moved to more positive potential gradually. In addition, these chemosensors were sensitive to the AcO- detection without the interference of other anions studied, as well as chemosensor 4 was sensitive to the H2PO4- detection.

Fluorinated ketones are widely prevalent in numerous biologically interesting molecules, and the development of novel transformations to access these structures is an important task in organic synthesis. Herein, we report the multicomponent radical acylfluoroalkylation of a variety of olefins in the presence of various commercially available aromatic aldehydes and fluoroalkyl reagents through N-heterocyclic carbene organocatalysis. With this protocol, over 120 examples of functionalized ketones with diverse fluorine substituents have been synthesized in up to 99 % yield with complete regioselectivity. The generality of this catalytic strategy was further highlighted by its successful application in the late-stage functionalization of pharmaceutical skeletons. Excellent diastereoselectivity could be achieved in the reactions forging multiple stereocenters. In addition, preliminary results have been achieved on the catalytic asymmetric variant of the olefin difunctionalization process.

Half-sandwich N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC)-nickel complexes of the general formula [NiACHTUNGTRENUNG(NHC)ClCp?] (Cp?= Cp, Cp*) efficiently catalyze the hydrosilylation of aldehydes and ketones at room temperature in the presence of a catalytic amount of sodium triethylborohydride and thus join the fairly exclusive club of well-defined nickel(II) catalyst precursors for the hydrosilylation of carbonyl functionalities. Of notable interest is the isolation of an intermediate nickel hydride complex that proved to be the real catalyst precursor.

The enantioselective assembly of quaternary stereocenters through sequential functionalization of versatile carbon-atom precursors has the potential to systematize the synthesis of these ubiquitous stereogenic elements. Herein, we report two catalytic processes that allow the realization of this concept in the enantioselective synthesis of cyclopropanes. We demonstrate that C-H functionalization, carbene-transfer, and decarboxylative cross-coupling can sequentially take place in the same carbon atom to obtain highly enantioenriched cyclopropane products. The reactions reported herein give access to redox-active analogues of privileged aryldiazoacetates and demonstrate their enantioselective carbene transfer with a simple and practical rhodium catalyst.

We reported in 1993 an efficient synthesis of ferrocene and ruthenocene mono-and dialdehydes which suggested the first truly specific monolithiation of these two metallocenes (U.T. Mueller-Westerhoff, Z. Yang and G. Ingram, J. Organomet. Chem., 463 (1993) 163). Unfortunately, these results were based on inappropriate experimental methods. We have now meticulously analyzed a wide spread of reaction conditions and have concluded that an effective monolithiation of ferrocene and of ruthenocene is possible, but not under the previously described reaction conditions.

Synthetic Route of 1273-86-5, Enzymes are biological catalysts that produce large increases in reaction rates and tend to be specific for certain reactants and products. 1273-86-5, Name is Ferrocenemethanol, molecular weight is 206.99. In an Article, once mentioned of 1273-86-5

A label-free electrochemical miRNA biosensor was developed based on a pyrrolidinyl peptide nucleic acid (acpcPNA)/polypyrrole (PPy)/silver nanofoam (AgNF) modified electrode. The AgNF was electrodeposited as redox indicator on a gold electrode, which was then functionalized with an electropolymerized layer of PPy, a conducting polymer, to immobilize the PNA probes. The fabrication process was investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The biosensor was used to detect miRNA-21, a biomarker abnormally expressed in most cancers. The signal was monitored by the change in current of the AgNF redox reaction before and after hybridization using cyclic voltammetry. Two PNA probe lengths were investigated and the longer probe exhibited a better performance. Nucleotide overhangs on the electrode side affected the signal more than overhangs on the solution side due to the greater insulation of the sensing surface. Under optimal conditions, the electrochemical signal was proportional to miRNA-21 concentrations between 0.20 fM and 1.0 nM, with a very low detection limit of 0.20 fM. The biosensor showed a high specificity which could discriminate between complementary, single-, doubled-base mismatched, and non-complementary targets. Three out of the seven tested plasma samples provided detectable concentrations (63 ± 4, 111 ± 4 and 164 ± 7 fM). The sensor also showed good recoveries (81?119%). The results indicated the possibilities of this biosensor for analysis without RNA extraction and/or amplification, making the sensor potentially useful for both the prognosis and diagnosis of cancer in clinical application.

Therefore, this conceptually novel strategy might open impressive avenues to establish green and sustainable chemistry platforms. In my other articles, you can also check out more blogs about 1273-86-5
